Invest in You: Your Life, Your Legacy Month
Financial wellbeing comes from making intentional decisions that support the life you want to live today and help you prepare for tomorrow. Paying off student loans, raising a family, saving for a major purchase or planning for retirement each involve financial decisions that can move you closer to your goals.
There is no single path to financial wellbeing. Your responsibilities and life experiences are unique. Rather than comparing yourself to others, focus on building a financial plan that reflects your priorities and the future you envision.
Define What Success Means to You
Before setting financial goals, take a moment to think about what matters most to you. Your priorities might include buying a home, traveling, building an emergency fund, supporting your family, giving back to your community or retiring comfortably. As your life changes, your financial goals will likely change as well.
Taking time to reflect on your values can help you make financial decisions with greater confidence. When your spending, saving and planning reflect your priorities, it’s often easier to stay motivated and make steady progress over time.

Build Healthy Financial Habits
Improving your financial wellbeing doesn’t require dramatic changes. In many cases, small, consistent actions have the greatest long-term impact.
Consider taking one or two of these steps:
- Review your monthly budget and spending habits.
- Build or replenish an emergency savings fund.
- Increase your retirement contributions when you’re able.
- Pay down high-interest debt.
- Review your insurance coverage and beneficiary designations.
- Take advantage of financial education and workplace benefits available through your employer.
Thoughtful, consistent decisions can strengthen your financial foundation over time.

Your Legacy Begins Today
A legacy is created through what you leave behind and the choices you make every day.
The habits you develop, the financial security you build and the values you demonstrate all become part of that legacy. Even small actions can create opportunities for you and the people you care about. The habits you build and the example you set can create greater stability for the people who matter most.
Start the Conversation
Money can sometimes feel like a difficult subject to discuss, yet open conversations often lead to better understanding and better planning.
Talking with a partner about financial goals, helping a child learn healthy money habits, reviewing important documents or discussing future plans with loved ones can reduce uncertainty and help everyone prepare.
These conversations don’t have to happen all at once. Starting with one discussion today can make tomorrow’s future decisions easier.
One Step Can Make a Difference
Choose one goal to focus on this month. You might increase your retirement contribution by 1%, set up automatic savings, schedule time to review your finances or talk with someone you trust about your future plans.
Investing in yourself can create opportunities, build confidence and align your choices with what matters most to you. The steps you take today help shape your legacy.

Monthly Moves
Support Your Back in Just 15 Minutes
Back discomfort is one of the most common physical complaints among adults. Fortunately, a few simple stretches and strengthening exercises can help improve flexibility, support your spine and reduce everyday aches and pains.
To perform these exercises:

Knee-to-Chest Stretch
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Pull one knee toward your chest, holding for five seconds before returning to the starting position. Repeat with the other leg, then finish by pulling both knees to your chest.
The goal: 2 to 3 repetitions on each side, once or twice a day.

Pelvic Tilt
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Tighten your abdominal muscles to gently arch your lower back away from the floor, then relax. Next, flatten your lower back into the floor by pulling your belly button inward.
The goal: Start with 5 repetitions and gradually work up to 30.

Lower Back Rotational Stretch
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Keep your shoulders on the floor and slowly lower your bent knees to one side. Hold for five to ten seconds, return to center and repeat on the opposite side.
The goal: 2 to 3 repetitions on each side, once or twice a day.

Bridge
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Tighten your core and glutes, then lift your hips until your body forms a straight line from your knees to your shoulders. Hold for three deep breaths before lowering.
The goal: Start with 5 repetitions and gradually work up to 30.

Chicken with Summer Vegetables

As summer winds down, make the most of the season’s fresh produce with this colorful one-skillet meal. Juicy chicken, sweet bell peppers and cherry tomatoes come together with smoky spices and bright herbs for a flavorful dinner that’s easy enough for a weeknight and satisfying enough to share.
Ingredients
- 6 scallions
- 6 medium fresh shishito peppers, stemmed
- 1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon neutral oil such as vegetable oil, divided
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons Diamond Crystal kosher salt, divided; for table salt, use half as much by volume
- 4 boneless, skin-on chicken breasts, patted dry 1 large red bell pepper, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick strips (about 2 cups)
- 1 large orange bell pepper, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick strips (about 2 cups)
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 6 (4-inch) sprigs of woody herbs (such as thyme or oregano), divided
- 12 ounces cherry tomatoes (about 2 cups)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice from 2 medium limes 1/4 cup dry sherry
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Directions
- Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 450°F. Slice the scallions into 2-inch pieces and place dark green parts in a large bowl; set white and light green parts aside. To the large bowl with scallion greens, add shishitos and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil and toss until evenly coated.
- Heat an empty 12-inch oven-proof skillet over high heat until hot, about 5 minutes. Add scallion mixture to skillet in a single layer and cook, tossing occasionally, until lightly charred on all sides, 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board, and let rest until cool enough to handle, about 5 minutes. (Do not wipe skillet out.)
- In a small bowl, stir together paprika, pepper and 1 tablespoon salt, and sprinkle evenly over chicken. Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to now-empty skillet and add chicken skin-side down in a single layer; cook over medium heat, undisturbed, until deeply browned on underside, 5 to 8 minutes. Flip chicken and cook, undisturbed, until browned on other side, about 4 minutes. Transfer chicken to a large plate, skin-side up, reserving drippings in skillet; set aside.
- Add bell peppers, 1 teaspoon salt, and reserved white and light green scallion parts to skillet, and cook over medium-high, undisturbed, until lightly browned on underside, 3 to 5 minutes. Add garlic and 3 herb sprigs, and cook, stirring and tossing constantly, until fragrant, about 2 minutes; stir in cherry tomatoes and remove from heat.
- Place chicken skin-side up on top of vegetables in a single layer and bake until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of chicken registers 155°F, 15 to 18 minutes.
- While chicken bakes, stem shishitos; finely chop charred shishitos and scallion greens, and place in a medium bowl; stir in cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and set aside. Divide chicken and vegetable mixture evenly among 4 plates, reserving liquid in skillet; discard herb sprigs.
- Add sherry and remaining 3 herb sprigs to reserved liquid in skillet, bring to a simmer over medium-high heat and cook, undisturbed, until reduced by about half, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter; drizzle sherry sauce and scallion topping evenly over chicken and vegetables.
