Who is eligible?
In general, employees working 24 or more hours per week are eligible for the benefits outlined in this overview.
Note: Employees must work 32 or more hours per week to be eligible for the life and disability plans.
- Your spouse (the person you are legally married to under state law)
- Your children under the age of 26
- Court-ordered eligible dependents with legal guardianship
When can I enroll?
You can enroll only at certain times throughout the year.
- As a current employee, you can enroll during the annual open enrollment period.
- If you are a newly hired employee, you must enroll or waive coverage within 30 days from your date of hire.
- Employees enrolling due to a qualifying event must enroll or waive coverage within 30 days from the date of the qualifying event.
How do I make changes?
Open Enrollment is the one time each year that employees can make changes to their benefit elections without a qualifying life event.
- You will need to notify Human Resources right away if you have a qualifying life event and need to make a change to your benefit elections (you only have 30 days from the date of a qualifying event to make any changes).
- Qualified changes in status include, for example: marriage, divorce, legal separation, spouses change of employment status, birth or adoption of a child, and loss or gain of available coverage by you or any of your dependents.
